DENVER (AP) — Cleveland quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was evaluated for a head injury Sunday after he took a hard hit from Denver linebacker Baron Browning in the third quarter against the Broncos. Thompson-Robinson was hit just below his chin as he released a pass. Cleveland has already lost starting QB Deshaun Watson to a season-ending shoulder injury. The Browns were trailing 17-12 and facing a third-and-12 at their own 23-yard line with 22 seconds left in the third quarter when Thompson-Robinson was hurt. He was looking for an open receiver when Browning closed in and planted his shoulder in Thompson-Robinson's upper chest.

Simmons, though, saved some of his profusive praise for one of Denver's current pass rushers, Baron Browning, a third-year pro from Ohio State who has transitioned from inside to outside linebacker. Browning missed the first two months of the season while recovering from knee surgery and a wrist injury. The most impressive play by Browning was his strip sack of Mahomes on first-and-10 from the Broncos 19 less than a minute before halftime. “He has that bend and he has that athleticism to be able to put himself in that upper echelon of pass rushers.

The Broncos (3-5) were serenaded off the field to the sound of Taylor Swift's “Shake it Off” blaring throughout Empower Field. The Broncos handed Mahomes his first AFC West road loss in beating Kansas City's quarterback for the first time in 13 tries. Wilson threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Williams and connected with Jeudy from 11 yards out for a 14-3 lead early in the second quarter. That marked the biggest lead by Denver since their 16-game skid against the Chiefs began on Nov. 15, 2015. Mahomes threw a 39-yard pass to Rashee Rice, setting up Butker's 34-yard field goal to make it 14-6.
